They wanted a basement where they could do things as a family:
Room to have friends and neighbors over. A safe place for the children to play and space for mom and dad to exercise.
The family room is now three rooms in one:

Exercise Room
Play Room
Family Room

Mom and Dad can exercise while the children play or do artwork. Also, the TV is visible so Dad can watch his video collection while working out. The family and company can gather comfortably and enjoy a fire in their fireplace.
